Dinny Goonan Wines
Dinny Goonan Winese Cellar Door is open between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm on weekends and public holidays between November and mid-June, and every day in January.
It is open at other times by appointment.
These are some of the things you can do when you visit us:
Wine tasting
Come and taste our award winning wines and relax in a peaceful vineyard setting. You can find out more about the wines by talking to Dinny, who will also be happy to suggest some food matches for each wine. There is no fee for tasting.
Wine purchases
All wines on tasting are available for purchase either by the glass or by the bottle. Some current release wines are only available for purchase through the Cellar Door. There is also the opportunity to purchase wines from earlier vintages as well.
EFTPOS and credit card facilities are available.
Food Platters
Our legendary Cheese and Vineyard platters are available when the Cellar Door is open between November and April and every day during January. The platters have a regional focus providing the opportunity to match local wines with regional flavours. The only distractions will come from the Crimson Rosellas and Blue Winged Grass Parrots that have made the vineyard their home.
Coffee
We have a reputation for providing the finest coffee in the district. Sometimes the locals pop in just for a coffee.
Local produce
We feature a range of local produce for sale. Items stocked vary with the season but usually includes olives, olive oils, preserves, local honey, home made biscuits, seeds and spices. Over January you can usually pickup some freshly harvested organic ‘Otway Red’ potatoes, grown by Matt next door.
Winery and vineyard tours
Providing it is not too busy, Dinny is happy to show you around the vineyard and winery, and explain in greater detail the grape to bottle process we call winemaking. If you’re lucky you might get to taste some barrel and tank samples as well.
Local information
Our vineyard and cellar door are conveniently situated on the inland road to Lorne, between Winchelsea and Deans Marsh. This location provides a great springboard to explore the Otways and surrounding attractions, and we’re happy to share some local knowledge of other places to see and visit.
We are part of the Otway Harvest Trail and can happily link you in to the broader food, wine and produce experience of the Otway hinterland.
